What we repair
- Hairline and stress crack repair
- Lath reattachment and secure re-anchoring
- Crown-line and ceiling plaster work
- Integration with modern drywall patches
- Finish matched to existing wall profile
Older Sonoma and Bay Area homes often have lath-and-plaster walls. We repair them with drywall compound rather than traditional plaster — it bonds hard, holds up, and once it is textured and painted you will not be able to tell the difference.

Four steps. No shortcuts.
- 01Secure the lath
Loose keys and lath re-anchored so the repair has something to hold.
- 02Fill with drywall compound
Cracks and voids filled in coats — compound, not plaster, disclosed up front.
- 03Feather and match
Blended to the uneven sheen and old texture around it.
- 04Paint-ready
Primed-ready and cleaned up; the wall keeps its character.
Why drywall compound
It is how a durable repair is done today. We can match it, and it looks just like plaster when it is finished — but we do not technically use plaster. If you want that disclosed in writing on your estimate, it already is.
Matched to the wall you have
Plaster walls have character — uneven sheen, old texture, generations of paint. We blend into what is there rather than over-working the wall into something it is not.

Plaster wall repair, blended finish
Do you repair lath-and-plaster walls?
Yes. One thing worth knowing: we repair plaster using drywall compound rather than traditional plaster. We match the surrounding surface so it looks like plaster once it is textured and painted — but the material we use is drywall mud. It bonds hard and holds up, and most people cannot tell the difference.
How much does drywall repair cost?
Residential repairs vary widely based on size and complexity. A single hole patch, a ceiling water stain, and a full-room install are three very different jobs. We quote firm prices before starting — no day-of surprises. Send a photo for the fastest quote.
